Pipedrive Gmail Integration: Full Setup Guide (2026)
Pipedrive connects to Gmail two different ways, and choosing the wrong one is the single most common setup mistake we see. Here is what each does, and which one you want.
Short answer
- Native integration — yes, no third-party tool required.
- Two mechanisms — the Pipedrive Chrome extension (sidebar in Gmail) and Email Sync (two-way sync of messages).
- Plan required — the Chrome extension works on every plan. Full Email Sync starts on Advanced.
- What does not sync — labels, filters, and drafts. Attachments sync, up to a size cap.
How to set it up
- In Pipedrive, go to Personal preferences → Email sync and click Add account.
- Choose Google and authorise with the Google account you actually send from — not a shared alias.
- Pick the sync scope: all messages, or only those with contacts already in Pipedrive. Start with the second.
- Install the Pipedrive Chrome extension to get deal context in the Gmail sidebar.
- Verify: send a test email to a known contact, then confirm it appears on the deal timeline within a minute.
The thing nobody tells you
Do not sync a shared inbox such as contact@ or sales@. Pipedrive's Email Sync is built around one mailbox per user. Point it at a shared inbox and every incoming message gets attributed to whoever authorised the connection, which corrupts activity reporting from day one. Use Pipedrive's Group Emailing feature instead, or route the shared inbox through a helpdesk.

Does Pipedrive sync Gmail labels?
