The Pipedrive API
For developers or custom integrations, Pipedrive offers a complete REST API.
What the API Allows
- Create, read, update, delete all entities
- Listen to webhooks (real-time events)
- Build custom apps
- Sync with internal tools
Getting Your API Key
Settings โ Personal preferences โ API โ Copy the Personal API token
โ ๏ธ Security
Never share your API key. It gives access to all your Pipedrive data.
Webhooks
Webhooks let Pipedrive send real-time notifications to your server when events occur (deal created, deal won, etc.).
Configuration: Settings โ Webhooks โ "+ Create webhook"
Common Integration Mistakes
โ Too many integrations
Each integration is a point of fragility. Only install what you really need.
โ No testing before deployment
Always test with dummy data. A misconfigured integration can create hundreds of duplicates.
โ Forgetting maintenance
OAuth tokens expire, apps get updated. Regularly verify everything works.
โ Inconsistent data
If two tools modify the same data, you'll have conflicts. Define a source of truth.
